「水月道場，夢中佛事」是教我們在世間做事的態度。釋迦牟尼佛在世示現八相成道，是大夢中之佛事。佛是覺悟——他做一切事，與世人不同處在於：事做了，心裡不執著，做得清淨，做而無做，利益眾生而不求回報。
若把一切放在心上，便是凡夫；即便利益眾生，也離不開煩惱。菩薩應化世間，「普門品」三十二應，示現國王、大臣等——治國同樣是「夢中佛事、水月道場」，福慧雙修，心清淨，只生智慧，不生煩惱。
我們護持道場、做義工、辦活動，都應作如是觀：認真做、盡心做，結果交給佛菩薩，不爭功、不怨懟。這樣才與淨業相應，道場才真正成為覺悟的場所。
“The way-place is like the moon reflected in water; Buddhist activities are like dreams” teaches how to work in the world. Shakyamuni Buddha’s Eight Aspects were great dreamlike deeds—done fully, yet without clinging: acting without attachment, benefiting beings without self-interest.
Holding everything in the heart makes one worldly; even good deeds then bind us to affliction. Bodhisattvas appear in many roles—kings, ministers, and more—still cultivating blessings and wisdom with a pure mind.
Serving the temple, volunteering, and hosting events should be the same: do them wholeheartedly, entrust results to the Buddhas, without fighting for credit or nursing resentment. Then the center stays a place of awakening.
